Built in 1913 as a National Guard Armory, this structure was completely renovated to house the
City’s Recreation Department. The project included replacement of the building’s HVAC system,
installation of a new elevator and a new sprinkler system. General upgrades for full code
compliance, and removal of existing asbestos and lead paint were also a part of this project.
The existing unused lower level of the building was converted to a new state-of-the-art fitness
center with an accessible main entry from the park. |
