Gaithersburg, Maryland
Study Completion Date: 2003
$7,767,979 | 71,785 SF

The goal of this study was to provide and cost three options for constructing additions that would allow for removal of portable classrooms and provision of full day kindergarten. Three options were explored; two consisted of single story additions and one included a two story addition. A full building code analysis, including life safety and accessibility studies, was conducted in order to ensure code compliance. It was determined that a new building-wide sprinkler system was required, along with fire alarm upgrades, corridor modifications, and retrofit of egress doors. All of these elements were included in the ultimate scope of work.
