Introduction
Proffitt & Associates Architects has been providing
architectural services to a wide variety of public
and private clients since the firm was founded in Frederick
in 1973 by Mr. Landon Proffitt (retired), father of
current President Michael L. Proffitt. The firm's practice
is focused on educational, community, recreational,
religious, office, industrial and historic projects.
Proffitt & Associates Architects offers comprehensive
Architectural and Interior Design Services and has
an experienced and talented staff of 11 professionals
who can turn concepts into reality through their
creative approach to design and the integration of
state-of-the-art

| Our offices have been located in historic
downtown Frederick, Maryland since the firm was founded.
Since our expansion in 1995 we have been located at the
corner of Church and Market Streets. Our location in
Frederick, Maryland puts us within one hour of Baltimore,
Annapolis, Northern Virginia, and Washington, DC., and
within one half hour of Montgomery County, Washington
County, and Howard County, Maryland. Recently, we have
expanded our reach to Maryland's growing Eastern Shore
and Western Maryland. |

History of Firm |
| The
firm of Proffitt & Associates
Architects, PC was established as a sole proprietorship
in 1973 as Landon M. Proffitt Architect.
In September, 1977, Michael Proffitt and others joined
the firm. In
1981, the firm became Landon M. Proffitt Architects,
as Michael became a registered architect and partner.
In 1991, the firm became a professional partnership named
Proffitt & Proffitt Architects.
In 1995, Landon M. Proffitt retired and the firm changed
its name to Proffitt & Pryor
Architects as Maria Pryor, with the firm since
1987, became a partner. Upon Maria's departure in early
2004,
the firm became its present Proffitt & Associates
Architects. In the past five years, the firm
has grown to the extent that our annual gross fee base
is over
$1 million. |
