FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR:

MAUGANSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MAUGANSVILLE, MARYLAND

STUDY COMPLETION DATE: 2003

$13,500,000 | 72,176 SF

The intent of this study was to analyze the existing school, originally constructed in 1936 with additions in 1955 and 1968, to determine the best approach for doubling the schools’ capacity. Four options were explored, including three renovation, demolition, and addition schemes and one scheme that called for demolition of all but the oldest portion of the structure, with a new facility to be constructed on another portion of the site.

Due to cost and constructability issues, the last scheme was preferred. Schematic design drawings were completed for the new two-story elementary school, which also included new bus loops, parking, and playfields.
