The goal of this design-build project was to provide a new two-story office building for this County Agency. Initially, only the first floor space and a small portion of the second floor were fit out, leaving almost 25,000 SF of expansion area on the second floor. Tilt-up concrete construction was used for the exterior walls with a composite deck second floor system, designed to allow for flexibility and additional load capacity when the upper level is occupied. Recessed accent bands, medallions, and a special textured coating in contrasting colors applied to the exterior walls add visual interest to the building and break up its mass.
