Due to the age of the Tatem Arts Center at Hood College, it did not comply with many current ADA standards and life safety codes. An addition was constructed to accommodate a new elevator and handicapped-accessible restrooms. The under-utilized 3-story lecture hall in the center core of the existing building was removed and infilled with additional general classrooms, offices, and a new moot court room. The third floor attic space was fit-out for the Psychology Department and includes eight offices, eight counseling areas and various support spaces. A new mechanical system and sprinkler system was added throughout the entire facility.
