The project involves the addition of approximately 35,000 SF and complete renovation of the 80,000 SF existing building, as well as the addition of a new 2-story, Class 4 fire station. The existing building, constructed in the early 1970's, is use as an educational and training facility for incoming Fire and Rescue, Police, and Corrections personnel.

Specialized areas of new construction and renovation include a new Police canine facility, the complete renovation and redesign of the existing indoor firing range, a new helipad designed to FAA standards, and a new controlled access drive from the new fire station.
